1827 Bunnamagoo Range

In commemoration of the year the property was settled, Bunnamagoo has adopted the name "1827” for special releases of its finest wines.

1827 Chardonnay

2014 Vintage: Made from hand-picked fruit from the Bunnamagoo high altitude vineyard near Rockley in the Central Ranges of NSW.  The juice was fermented in a mixture of new and older French and Hungarian hogsheads for only 4 months to retain the delicate apple and grapefruit aromas before maturing for 7 months in a small stainless steel vessel to avoid over oaking and build complexity and structure.  
 

1827 Cabernet Sauvignon

2011 Vintage: Fermentaton was completed in a mixture of new and old French oak barriques and hogsheads before maturing for 21 months.  The resulting wine displays rich mulberry and dark cherry aromas overlaying sweet spices.  The soft palate is layered with bright fruit and vanillin oak dervied characters over its earthy regional trait.

Sparkling

Pinot Noir Chardonnay 2013

Made using cool climate fruit  from the Central Ranges in NSW according to the traditional Methode Champenoise technique. The wine is straw yellow in colour and after 42 months on lees it has developed a complex bouquet  of baked pastry, almond biscotti and appleskin aromas.  The palate is rich and rounded with flavours of exotic spices and subtle strawberry notes.  It is full bodied but retains freshness with a citrus line of acidity. 

Whites

Pinot Gris 2017

Bouquet of lifted nashi pear and apple aromas and a palate that retains freshness, interest and texture provided by wild fermentation and maturation on lees for 3 months

Riesling 2016

Fresh citrus and fragrant floral and lemon barley aromas and a palate with intensity and a brightness provided by the clean acid line this Riesling is made in a drier style.

Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2016

The tropical bouquet of kiwifruit and cut passionfruit leads to a complex but fresh palate with a soft texture and fine cleansing acidity.

Semillon 2014

The nose displays lifted  lemongrass characters with hints of shortbread from the 'sur lees' treatment.  The palate is a fresh yet textural style that has a focused acid line providing a long finish. Suited to be cellared for 7-10 years

Chardonnay 2016

This popular house style continues to embrace a variety of hands-on techniques. It exhibits tropical fruit flavours with subtle cashew notes while retaining its typical supple texture and enticing complexity

Flavours of strawberry and raspberry fill a palate that finishes clean and dry

Tempranillo 2016

Aromatic with fine tannin structure  and medium weight provides for a wine with attractive balance

Shiraz 2013

Enticing aromas of sweet spices and raspberry.  The palate fills with plum and red cherry flavours

Merlot 2013

Layers of plum, blueberry and chocolate characters and soft tannins with hints of vanilla and toast

Cabernet Shiraz Merlot 2013

Exhibiting  dark chocolate, raspberry and mocha characters with a mid-palate freshness without the heavy tannic weight of traditional Mudgee

Cabernet Merlot 2013

The palate shows intense fruit mix with boysenberry and blood plums across the front and middle with soft round tannins

Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Medium- bodied wine exhibiting varietal Mudgee aromas of cassis and blackberry notes.  The solid tannin structure marries well with chocolate and mulberry flavours and a vanillin finish. 

Dessert

Autumn Semillon 2016

A worthy successor to the benchmark 2013 vintage, it is winemaking's closest equivalent to alchemy, displaying lifted lemon and honey aromas.  The rich luscious palate is balanced with a cleansing natural acidity
