SOME WINES JUST SEEM TO BE MADE TO BE ENJOYED WITH FOOD. TYPICALLY, THESE ARE COOLER CLIMATE WINES WITH NO SHORTAGE OF FLAVOUR PLUS THE ELEGANCE TO COMPLEMENT FOOD RATHER THAN DOMINATE IT.
Bunnamagoo’s Sales Manager Jean Luc Clavel believes that there are a number of reasons for the wines’ popularity with restaurateurs: “Firstly, they’re excellent, high quality wines, virtually handmade by the winemaker Robert Black. Also, the fruit comes from anexceptional cool climate area, comparable to some of the best in France. And everyone associated with the wine, the Paspaleys, the winemaker, even the sales people share the same passion and sense of integrity, I think that’s very important.” Clavel says the wines have eminently food friendly fruit and bouquet. “They’re elegant and understated and really underline the flavours of food.”
